RUN THE MARATHON OR HALF AS ELVIS AND HELP SET A WORLD
RECORD FOR THE LARGEST NUMBER OF RUNNING ELVI

In keeping with our theme to put the fun back
in your run, the Zappos.com Las Vegas Marathon invites you to run the electrifying
neon corridor of the world famous Strip as “the King.”
 Last
year, Bob Babbitt of Competitor magazine organized a team of 48 male
and female Elvi who:
- Were the hit of the marathon’s Quality of Life Expo
- Gorged themselves at an “Elvis only” Carbo
Load Dinner
- Were witnesses as 22 couples got married or renewed their
vows on live television at the Mile 5 Run Thru Wedding Chapel
- Had the time of their lives running the Zappos.com Las Vegas Marathon & Half
Marathon as Elvis.

This year, we are looking to establish a world record of 101
Elvi. If
this sounds like your idea of a good time, here’s all you need
to do to run as Elvis: |

- Register for the Marathon or Half Marathon. There is no
additional charge to participate as Elvis.
- Send an e-mail to go2L@pipeline.com and
let us know you plan to run as Elvis so we can send you updates about
photo ops, media ops, Expo ribbon cutting and more race week fun than
you can possibly imagine.
- Rent or buy an Elvis outfit or have one made by Misty Johnson by
contacting her at misty820@aol.com. She
charges an average of $110, none of which goes to the Marathon.
- Be ready to stop and cheer on the other runners, sing Elvis tunes
at the top of your lungs and make an effort to finish the half marathon
in 2:15 or the full in 5:00 hours. And if you don’t, it’s
ok because Elvis is never in a hurry, ya know?
- Work on your best “thank you very much” Elvis impersonation. You’re
gonna need it.
